Resident leaders and housing advocates will discuss the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and what they are doing to keep their communities safe during the next “Tenant Talk Live” call/webinar presented by the National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC).

“Tenant Talk Live” is a bimonthly event with resident leaders from across the country. It’s an opportunity for residents to connect with NLIHC staff and others to share best practices and learn how to be more involved in leading their communities and influencing federal housing policies.

The next webinar/call at 6 p.m. EST Monday, April 6, will focus on responding to coronavirus.

Scheduled speakers include:

• NLIHC vice president of policy Sarah Saadian will discuss Congress and the federal government’s response to COVID-19 in regards to housing;

• Mayor Joe Pitts of Clarksville, Tenn., will discuss local responses to the pandemic;

• Housing Action Illinois’ executive director Sharon Legenza will discuss the impact COVID-19 will have on the 2020 Census; and

• Shalonda Rivers (Opa-Locka, Fla.), Lorraine Brown (New York City), and Martha Weatherspoon (Clarksville, Tenn.) will share what they’re doing to keep their communities safe.
