Shaun Donovan Jumps into Race for NYC Mayor

The former HUD secretary broke the news Tuesday morning on social media.

Shaun Donovan, former secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) during the Obama administration, has formally announced that he is running for mayor of New York City.

Before leading HUD, Donovan was head of the city’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development.

It had been known that Donovan was eyeing a run at the mayor’s post, but he made the news official Tuesday.
