Jarrett: President-elect to Create Office of Urban Policy

While anticipation grows on who President-elect Barack Obama will select to head the Department of Housing and Urban Development, a close adviser offered a glimpse into the new administration.

Valerie Jarrett, co-chair of Obama’s transition team and CEO of The Habitat Co., revealed that the president-elect will create a new Office of Urban Policy, which will provide a comprehensive approach to urban development.

“For those of us who have worked in city governments across the country, we recognize how invaluable that person will be,” Jarrett told NPR.
