Zimmerman Announces Retirement from McCormack Baron


Hillary Zimmerman, president of McCormack Baron Asset Management and senior vice president and general counsel of McCormack Baron, will retire March 31, announced the company.

Zimmerman is celebrating 39 years with McCormack Baron and has participated in almost every aspect of its work. After attaining partnership at the Greenfield, Davidson, Mandelstamm & Voorhees law firm in St Louis, she joined McCormack Baron as a transactional lawyer overseeing the closing of all of McCormack Baron’s development projects in the 1980s and 1990s. She became an industry specialist in the design and implementation of soft financing with state, housing authority, and nonprofit lenders to McCormack Baron deals.

She created the asset management company in 2004 to oversee the firm’s portfolio and added the servicing of more than 200 outside partnerships at the request of a major national investor. She developed a disposition program for McCormack Baron, which has made a substantial contribution to the company’s profitability.

Upon Zimmerman’s retirement, Kelly Kinnaman, senior vice president, will step into her role
as president of McCormack Baron Asset Management, and Ian McCormack, senior vice president, will become general counsel.

Boatman Patterson to Lead CCR


Tia Boatman Patterson has become president and CEO of the California Community Reinvestment Corp. (CCRC). She takes over the top post following the retirement of longtime leader Mary Kaiser.

Since 1995, the organization has built a diversified business model, originating in excess of $2 billion in affordable housing permanent mortgage lending opportunities for its investors, while providing needed affordable housing to families, seniors, and residents with special needs, as well as permanent supportive housing to formerly homeless residents.

In 2021, Patterson accepted a presidential appointment with the Office of Management and Budget as its associate director of housing treasury and commerce, overseeing $90 billion in discretionary resources and $3 trillion in loans and loan guarantees for numerous federal agencies, including the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and essential functions that encompassed, among other things, affordable housing.

Earlier, she served as executive director of the California Housing Finance Agency.

SVP Joins Acacia Network

Anne-Marie Hendrickson

Anne-Marie Hendrickson has been named senior vice president of affordable housing at Acacia Network.

She is the former deputy commissioner for asset and property management at the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development and brings years of experience in asset and property management, portfolio expansion, and administration of housing programs.
Acacia Network is a leading human service organization in New York City and one of the largest Hispanic-led nonprofits in the state, serving over 150,000 individuals every year.

Beacon Communities Names Associate General Counsel


Justin Babineaux has been appointed associate general counsel of property management at Beacon Communities.

He will serve as primary legal support for the property management team in all legal aspects of the ownership and management of affordable and mixed-income housing communities. Babineaux will also provide legal guidance on issues and various areas of law impacting the operation of Beacon’s properties. In addition, he will monitor regulatory developments and identify changes to ensure compliance.

He recently served as staff attorney at Columbia Residential. Earlier in his career, he worked at HUD in Atlanta, first as a legal intern in the Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity and then as a trial attorney at the Office of Regional Counsel.

RDL Architects Announces Promotion


Kevin Dreyfuss-Wells has been promoted to vice president, architecture, at RDL Architects.

He has been with the firm for nearly 10 years and recently served as a senior project manager and designer.

Headquartered in Shaker Heights, Ohio, RDL Architects’ work includes affordable, market-rate, and mixed-use developments.

Operation Pathways Names Director of Resource Development

Rebecca Ely has become director of resource development at Operation Pathways, a subsidiary of The NHP Foundation (NHPF). She is responsible for overall development and implementation of funding initiatives of Operation Pathways, CORES-certified providers of on-site resident services.
Ely has extensive management and fundraising experience in the nonprofit sector and a strong record of success in raising funds through annual funds, grants, corporate sponsorships, and major gifts.

She recently served as vice president of institutional advancement for Jubilee Housing, where, over a five-year tenure, she elevated the organization’s brand and profile; launched a signature event, Raise the Roof; increased individual donor giving; and raised a combined $13 million for impact investment funds to acquire new properties.
