Stevens Becomes FHA Commissioner

David Stevens was sworn in this week as assistant secretary for housing and Federal Housing Administration (FHA) commissioner at the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

He will be responsible for overseeing the $600 billion FHA insurance portfolio and the department’s multifamily subsidized housing program.

Prior to his appointment, Stevens was president and COO of the Long & Foster Cos.
